as i'm a fan of word play, the first thing that came to my mind, was *trans late* -> late transport or the such other ideas would be "translation" in the sense of translating words to thoughts and vice-versa.. do you know the film "waking life"? There's a scene in it that describes this kind of translation very well..

good idea, but wouldn't work exactly in german i guess. "übersetzen" is the real topic. so maybe to sit above something, or like a ferry, or something!

still have to see waking life. only seen a scanner darkly so far.

But Übersetzen as Über setzen works with getting across a river via a ferry....

It used to be free (and very cool), but I think they ended up needing cash and you'd have to pay if you needed to use it for more than one attempt or something. Not sure if it's still that way or not. Good luck!
